We have our tests in class, each quarter. That means to expect a test in March, June, September, & December.
Please read below to know what our overall expectations and objectives are regarding testing, and earning ranks:

—New kids must stay at Orange Belt for a minimum of 2 months before advancing to the next belt.
—Each quarter all kids have a specific set of technique combinations to learn and demonstrate.
—Red Belt Kids have a specific set of advanced combinations to learn and demonstrate.
—Youth Black Belt Requirements - you must learn and demonstrate advanced combinations for 3 quarters. For each quarter, you get a stripe.
—Youth Black Belts have a specific set of weapon combinations to learn and demonstrate.
—Black Belt with Colored Tassel Requirements - you must learn and demonstrate weapon combinations for 4 quarters. For each quarter, you get a stripe.

—Adult Colored Belts will all learn a specified set of Open Hand Combinations and Weapon Combinations
—Adults Black Belt Test requires a little memorization and a lot of repetition (2 forms, 30 minutes, each)
—1st Degree Black Belt (Jade Tassel) Test requires a little more memorization, and a little less repetition (4 forms, 15 minutes each)
—2nd Degree Black Belt (Blue Tassel) Test requires more memorization and less repetition (6 forms, 10 minutes each)
—3rd Degree Black Belt (White Tassel) Test requires even more memorization and even less repetition (8 forms, 7 minutes, 30 seconds each)
