The Right Mindset

Martial arts techniques are only part of the equation, when it comes to self defense. The other part is the mindset. You have to, eventually, believe in yourself. You have to believe in your ability to perform the technique. You have to believe in your ability to make corrections to the technique. You have to believe in your ability to learn and apply.

That belief in yourself is the survival mindset you need, in order to overcome difficult situations. You have to believe that there is a solution out there, and you have to believe that you will find it. Even if it takes a day, a month, a year, a decade, you still believe that you will find it.

Mistakes will be made. But if you believe in yourself that you will fix the mistake, that is the first step. It might take a day, a month, a year, a decade before you fix the mistake, but in order to fix it, you have believe you can.

So our training in our Kung-Fu techniques and Gracie Jiu Jitsu Basics is more than just learning to apply a series of steps to a situation. That is the "outer shell", if you will. The more you start seeing the pieces fall into place, the more you tend to believe that yes, you indeed have the right reflexes to handle some very bad situations.

We provide the situation and steps for you. The more time you spend with it, the more (hopefully) you start seeing that you are increasingly becoming more successful in the ability to apply your techniques. And we hope that the more you experience that, the more you believe in your ability to succeed. This is the right mindset for being able to handle challenges that come your way.
